Day 10- Church at the Center
Today is the last day we are here in Kenya. This is always an emotional day as we day goodbye to all the kids and the Project Lucas staff members. As we got to the Center, we hung out with the kids until church started. Church today was with all the Project Lucas kids and their families. We began with everyone together in the middle of the yard. We sang worship songs, danced, and prayed together. When it was time for the sermon, the kids went to kids church and the teens went to teen church. Collin got to preach an incredible message about worship. We don't worship idols but we worship the living and True God. He gave the Gospel at the end and we got to see four of the parents accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. Four parents moved from death to life today! God is SO good!
In teen church, we got to share a similar message with them as well as have the rest of our high schoolers share their testimonies. The group was much larger today than yesterday and it was awesome. Afterwards, we told them if they had questions we would stay back in the room to talk. We had about five that wanted to talk with us about all kinds of spiritual questions ranging in topics. Today, I totally saw what Silas was talking about. These young people know a lot about the Bible. They know the stories and they know about Jesus. However, they have a hard time placing their trust in Him. Moving from head knowledge to heart knowledge is the hard part.
In kids church, we got to share the story of salvation with them. We brought crafts from the States with us. Each child got to make a Gospel bracelet with the colored beads. It was a fun and easy way to share the Gospel with each child. We got to talk with them, teach them, and sing with them. It was an incredible blessing. After church was over and we were about to say our goodbyes, a girl came up to Amanda and asked if she could accept Christ and be born again. Amanda took the girl into one of the classrooms and it was the one with the 3 Circles on the blackboard from yesterday. She used it to talk her through the Gospel and then she led the girl through praying. What an incredible moment!! Today, we got to see God move five people from death to life. From eternal separation from God to eternal life with God. Hallelujah!
During church, I got our COVID test emails and, thankfully, we are ALL negative! We are back at Heart now getting packed up and ready to head to the airport. Our flight leaves at 10:30pm but we always arrive with plenty of enough time just in case. We love you all! Check our Insta for updates on the flights and such. Much love from Magical Kenya!
